Department of Geoinformatics
The Department of Geoinformatics was founded in 1997 with its undergraduate programs. It established its M.S and Ph.D.programs in 2003 and 2004, respectively. Geoinformatics is referred to as the science and engineering of the collection, analysis, and interpretation of date, especially instrumental data, relating to the earth's surface. It is a modern discipline, which integrates acquisition, modelling, analysis, and management of spatially referenced data. The department provides multi-disciplinary courses and performs cutting-edge research in fields of GIS (Geographical Information Systems), GIS-based Applications, LIS (Land Information Systems), Cadastre, Geodesy, GPS, Surveying, Photogrammetry, RS (Remote Sensing) and other related fields.
