Foundation
Established in 2012, International School of Urban Sciences(ISUS) is the platform for education and knowledge exchange among experts from home and abroad and from public and private sectors. ISUS covers a range of fields in urban sciences including urban and regional planning, infrastructure development, construction development, and environmental policy. ISUS offers two graduate programs for Korean students: global construction management and sustainable urban & regional development. ISUS also hosts four Master’s degree programs for partner countries with financial supports of Korean public organizations: Master of Urban Administration and Planning (MUAP) in cooperation with Seoul Metropolitan Government, Master of Urban and Regional Development (MURD) with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Master's program for Global Leaders in Environmental Policy (MGLEP) with Ministry of Environment and Master of Infrastructure Planning and Development (MIPD) with Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

These full scholarship programs are expected to contribute to the sustainable development in partner countries by sharing academic and professional skills which have been accumulated for decades in Korea. Through these programs, participants will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge with global perspective by networking with international classmates. Department of International Urban Development offers a Ph.D. program to Korean and international students who aim to make meaningful contribution to the fields of sustainable urban development and construction in an international context. It is one of the University’s inter-departmental collaboration programs with the International School of Urban Sciences as the primate and draws strengths from the University’s premier educational capacity in urban sciences, the School’s specialties in international urban development as well as SMG’s renowned urban policy experiences. The School’s extensive (Master’s) student body comprised of domestic working professionals and government officials from around the world serves an ideal community in which to build up a global network in related fields.
